hm,
my question is this:
how does this work with the protector titles?
I have all but one mission with a masters on it....the last mission will get me:
a the protector title
b nothing since hard mode has been introduced and nerfed the protector track
c ?????
and
if there is say a pug.....they want to do mission X
some of the players have done the mission w/masters and now have the option to play in hard mode....will the other players also wind up in hard mode? will it count towards their protector title? what if one of the players does NOT want hard mode???
I would like to know how this will effect the rest of the game.
its a nice idea....should have been implemented before factions even came out.....kinda late now.

They will probably kick the person, and find someone that wants to do it on hard mode.
Absolutly off topic: Cataclysm, how did Spirit rift hit you that hard? I want that spirit rift lol!

Very nice demonstration of how to make constructive criticism, unlikely the immature whining that unfortunately is the norm on this forum.
If you read the fine print on Gaile's announcement, you will see that she also say that "normal" mode will be made easier in a few places. So this hard mode actually also makes concerns to those people who don't have the time to create some über mission specific builds.
Not all parts of the game can be for all people.

And if you are feeling froggy, deliberately do not take those skills they name. I'll wager you will not succeed. Thus, the game is forcing you into cookie-cutter builds.

Sorry, there are no skills required to beat down Varesh. I've beat Morah many times with different teams and all that's required is a team that can 1) watch their aggro, 2) monk half-decently, and 3) call targets/focus fire. Same as any other mission in the game. I've even been on a team in Gate of Madness with none of the required skills and we still pwned Shiro by wanding/arrowing him into the ground.

Thanks for the news Gail! I'm was very happy with how A-net was managing Guild Wars, but I never thought we would recieve such a large new update. The ideas sound like they could revitalize some of the earlier Guild Wars areas and provide a lot more to do once one had finished the game. Keep up the great work!

Of all the times I've tried to do mission + bonus, the one time I can recall failure was when my entire team died and I got stuck inside my pack of minions. I mean, I just had to run up the dock, but was bodyblocked by my own undead.
How sad is that?
I'm looking forward to the hard mode. It sounds like they're not just going with "slap 10-20 levels on everything and double their damage output on top."

On the plus side :
This update will be awesome and get people to replay the game from the start. Can't wait.....
Must rush all my toons through on easy mode while there's groups still playing that way.....
On the small negative side :
I'm wondering will this split the player community further with "LFG hard mode only"

Thank you. Thankfully, it seems that Hard Mode is an option, which can be exercised or not as the player sees fit. That kind of addition is awesome, expanding the possible, instead of substituting or contracting it.

I am unwilling to argue with you in this thread so as not to hijack it. If you so desire, open another and I'll see it tomorrow.
Thx!

I hope they are thinking of a way where those of us who like to play many chars can benifit from the implementation.

I guess it would reduce the value of the title and you would need an armorer to hook you up. You won't have much chance of making it out alive with the paper armor there is.

Great job BTW.
